My Lord, has there ever been an England XV containing quite so many oiks? How long before there is complete oik side selected? Is it proof that the state school system is now a better breeding ground than the great public schools? Will you be having a quiet word at Twickers?

Interesting questions, old fruit. To take them in turn: I fear not; not long - and probably not long either until half of the XV are deuced colonials!; perhaps - proof, certainly, that the likes of Eton and Harrow are churning out far too many limp-wristed spods and not nearly enough hearties; I shall button-hole Thomas at the next opportunity! (Thomas is a decent bloke, but I have my doubts about anyone with such a dodgy Taff surname).
